Jeffery Dale Welker

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:

Jeff was introduced to photography by his father. At a young age he carefully watched him make photographs and prints.

Arizona has always been home.

ARTIST STATEMENT:

I seek to be an autonomous fine art photographer. Occasionally, I succeed. Other times, not so much.

My images are rendered on large format black and white film utilizing a 4x5 camera and various lenses. I develop my film and craft my gelatin silver prints using traditional darkroom practices.

“I stare into the deepest pool of the river, which holds the mystery of a cellar to a child, and I think of those two-track roads that dwindle into nothing in the forest. I have this feeling of walking around for days with the wind knocked out of me.” Jim Harrison
